1. do you have any idea how impossibly hard it is to even get a movie made? and if you get that far, to get distribution? proper marketing? a wide release? and ten million other little details no one thinks about or notices?
2. do you know how many movies are made every year that are fantastic and hardly get seen?
3. how about the movies that do get seen, but are overlooked because the media has decided to be up the ass of someone else that year?
if your movie is even suggested as a nomination at the oscars, you have already won. sorkin won for the screenplay, and to me, if any of it really matters (it doesn’t) - that does.
tsn wasn’t even my favorite of the year but i just wanted to say that because people seem to be genuinely mad. i’m not, i loved the king’s speech. not as much as the social network and a few others, but it’s great. i think it comes down to the message of it. i predicted this win as soon as i saw the king’s speech, so i really don’t understand the shock and horror.
