I've said it once and I'll totally say it again, you have the best taste in all your tumbles! Have you gotten the chance to see Ford Coppola's "Tetro"? I saw it in Cannes 09- and fell in love. Just recently bought the DVD. Watch it (in HD) the cinematography..drools..
Thanks so much! You’re so lucky to have gone to Cannes, that’s a dream of mine. Hopefully one day. :)
I haven’t seen that yet but I want to.
I also want to tell everyone who’s been leaving film recommendations, I appreciate it! I made a list and I will see everything, I promise. If you care enough to recommend something, I’ll at it to the Netflix queue. :)
Saw Greenberg last night. Usually, I’d do a full on review on this one since it’s new, but I still have no idea what to make of it. All I know is I was disappointed by everything except Ben Stiller’s stellar performance. I’m a fan of Noah Baumbach… thought The Squid & The Whale was great, Margot At The Wedding, too, though not as much. Loved his collaborations with Wes Anderson. So what was the problem with Greenberg? I can’t quite put my finger on it. It was not good, in my opinion.
Untitled was actually the one that I first saw. :) I loved it! Everything about it--the cast, the soundtrack, the script, the whole thing with Penny Lane (how she's so strong, but it's obvious that she isn't as carefree as she'd like us to believe) even the cinematography. It's the one movie plot I'd like to experience most.
Cameron Crowe is kind of a hero for me for that.
Cameron is my hero as well. He’s definitely my favorite writer of all time. I love every single one of his films, my second favorite to Almost Famous being Vanilla Sky (even though I know he adapted that from another film, his version is genius). I am so sad he hasn’t had a new film out in so long. Whenever he releases the next, I’ll be there with bells on, I adore that man. :)
I love Untitled so much. I thought Almost Famous couldn’t be any more perfect but when I saw Untitled I was just amazed. My favorite is the “COMEEE TO CLEVEEELANDD!!” scene and also Penny Lane’s little birthday party just kills me. Oh I adore it.
I just activated my ask box like two days ago and I’ve gotten a bunch of questions. I appreciate the questions but I don’t want to answer with an individual post for each as not to clog up your dashboards ;)
So here are the answers to what I’ve been asked:
~If I’ve followed you, it’s because I saw you post something movie-related that I may want to reblog. ~My favorite movie is Almost Famous. ~If I post a screencap with writing on it, then I’ve made it. I would appreciate if you’d reblog it from here instead of saving and reposting. But you know, it’s the internet, so whatever. ~If the cap doesn’t have writing on it, I probably didn’t cap it, but it’s possible. I don’t care if you use my caps for whatever. ~Anything else I post I don’t claim is mine in any way and it’s just stuff I’ve found. ~Right now I don’t want to allow anyone to submit anything because, well, this is my blog and I only want to post movies I like. Sorry! ~If you’ve sent a message saying you love my blog and that you are following me, I thank you SO much!! ~EDIT: Someone just asked if I follow everyone who follows me. I do on this account but I don’t on my personal one, capriamoon. :)
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR FOLLOWING ME. You rock. :) Now for a few things from one of my favorites, Pretty In Pink. ;)
I see more and more people on Tumblr posting taglists so people can access posts easier so I figured I’d do one while this blog is still new so that maybe I can keep up with it.
<b>As of Jan 2011, I will not be posting tag links for people here, only film titles.</b> If you are looking for posts featuring your favorite actor/director/writer/etc, just go to this URL: http://www.capriamovies.tumblr.com/tagged/martin+scorsese - I used Martin Scorsese as an example, but you can enter whatever name you want, of course.
